Hello! We heard from the birthmom today, she said that she has popped and finally looks pregnant. We are at 18 weeks. Almost half there! yeah! We are going down there to see her and the Birthfather in July and to find out what the baby is ;-)

These two pics are almost 5 years apart. Wow what a difference there is huh? I can't belive how much she
changed. I love each and ever stage. We are having a great summer even tho we won't be going to the
family get together in WA.

Our HUGE family news is we are adopting a baby. "We" are due in November, and will find out what the
baby is in July sometime. We are really thrilled. Please pray for the first family during this hard time. It's
not an easy decision they are going to be making. We will be doing an open adoption. We are soooo excited!

When Emily was born my mom told me that she would not be allowed to play with the bears and would just have to learn not to touch them.

Yeah that didn't happened.

When Emily started showing interest in them mom said, "Oh it's okay if she plays with one or two."

Guess we can see how she stuck to that rule!

Tonight I am sitting here on the verge of tears. My sweet innocent baby is graduating preschool tomorrow. How is that even possiable? Wasn't it yesterday she was born? I look at her and sometimes it seems like she can't be five and then sometimes she seems older then her years. I am so proud of her but it's bittersweet that she is already at this point...before we know it we will be at her high school graduation. Oh my lets not go there, shall we?

So many times since Emily was born I thought about going to work, but I knew I couldn't leave her 8 hrs every day so we made sure I could stay home with her, well today her teacher told me that they do this testing two times a year, and average is 50-60 and Emily scored 140!! Mrs. Kalmer and I both stood there and cried! Hearing that made me realize that me staying home with her and teaching her for 4 years really paid off.

So we got out the easy bake oven , and she became "Samantha" the easy cooker LOL.

Maybe this means summer is here. My parents went camping so Emily and I drove out and spent the day with them. Emily had a blast! I did to but she was brave enough to get in the water. Burrr it was cold!! She found a dead duck so she held a funeral for it and was almost in tears because it passed away.

Emily's recital is coming up and they are dancing to walking on sunshine and the teddy bear song, they are all dressing up as ladybugs, butterflys and bee's. I can't wait!

Update on us

A few years ago my dad noticed that I had this lump on the base of my neck, and whenever someone would touch it, I would feel like I was going to throw up. Well the other night I got up off the floor after playing with Emily and heard a pop in my neck and then felt horriable pain, so I went to the chiro on thursday. He took x-rays and found I have Cervical spondylosis, he is hoping to give me some temp relief from the pain and then have me go to Salt Lake for a second opinion and if that Doc agrees we will start getting set up for surgery I guess.

What is Cervical spondylosis you ask? Well it's a disorder caused by abnormal wear on the cartilage and bones of the neck (cervical vertebrae) with degeneration and mineral deposits in the cushions between the vertebrae (cervical disks). He said it could have been caused by a car wreck I had years ago and had whiplash or it could in the same family of what my mom has wrong with her back. I have lost the feeling in the last two fingers of my left hand as well.

Emily is getting really excited about her dance recital in a little over a week. Her hair things came today and we pick up her costume next week! I can't wait! Oh I mean she can't wait!

We bought a little camper and can't wait to use it this summer, it's not much but it gets us out of the tent.

Andrew and Emily have just a little over a month left of school, and then Emily will be all ready for Kindergarten and Andrew will be ready for high school. How crazy is that!

I am on the way to changing my life. I have a long road, but thanks to my friend Kim, it won't be a lonely road. Having her on this road of losing weight and eating better with me is making it a lot better,nobody likes to take a trip alone, right? So Kim...pack your bags, it may not always be fun, but we can dooooooo it! Or so says Tony Little!

I have been really watching what I eat, I am no longer drinking regular soda, I am having ONE diet soda a day and I am actually taking time to enjoy it, instead of guzzling it like I used to do. I am actually drinking and enjoying water, sometimes mixed with Crystal Light. I am eating normal meals but making my snacks fruit and veggies or salad.

I am going to admit something that I haven't ever said outloud, but I haven't ever worked for anything, if it didn't come easy to me, it didn't happen. Growing up I played softball and was good at it, but it came natural, yeah I practiced but didn't kill myself doing it. I am a good mother, but I feel it comes natural to me, so starting today I am going to work for something. I am going to lose this weight. My daughter is not going to have the fat momma! I can dooooooooo it!

I am also still doing my gazelle, and I actually enjoy it, I do 20 mins a day right now.

On Tuesday last week, Emily was over and Grandma's and didn't want to go to school, so being the push over I am I said okay. We didn't think anything about it until today we went to to school and there was a birthday invite to her friend Eric's party. She was totally bummed that she missed it, because she loves hanging out with him, they seem to have a good time! She was bummed big time!

But I think it was a good lesson, because on the way out of school she said wow I miss a lot when I miss a day at school huh?

It's only been in the last week or so that Emily has decided it was time she dress herself, which she has been doing a great job of it, but today I finally gave in and let her pick out what she wanted to wear. I have decided that I am D-O-N-E being fat and am finally going to do something about it. I don't want to really "diet" because once I think I can't have something I want it that much more!
So I am just eating my meals as I would normally and not drinking soda, but drinking water instead,nd just making my snacks fruit and veggies. You know...what normal people do ;-)

I bought a Gazelle and have been RUNNING on it......yes folks I said Running, once you have picked yourself up off the floor, I will tell you that I am running a mile in almost 8 mins
I hope to speed that up, but for now I am happy with that. I want to lose a lot of weight, but will
be happy with the first 5 lbs for now ;-)

I was having trouble sleeping but not anymore since I started working out. I am determined to do it this time!!!

Emily doesn't like sweets much, but she does love chocolate cake and brownies. Since today is Grandma's birthday we baked some brownies, and even tho Emily doesn't like to get dirty she sure doesn't mind if there is chocolate on her face! She sat for 30 mins and licked the bowl so clean that it looked like she washed it!

The Yellow below her eye is the bruise going away from playing on the trampoline, not mustard ;-)

Migraines suck!

I woke up this morning with a killer headache , it felt like someone hit me with a baseball bat, so I spent all day in my darkened cold room and finally around 5 it stopped hurting.

Russell and the kids were so great. The kids got along, Russell made sure I had everything I needed and Emily even came into the room a few times to make sure I was okay and didn't need anything. She is one of the sweetest 4 year olds I know!

I know this sounds sappy, but I really do feel lucky that I met Russell, he spoils me and even tho somedays I wanna strangle him, I know he loves me no matter what , we are best friends and I know that is what counts in the end! I know him and I will be married for the rest of our lives.

Recently the parents of one of Emily's classmates went through a divorce so she has been asking a lot about Divorce, it's sad to think that kids this age and even younger have to worry about this sorta thing. I will always work my hardest to make sure Emily does not have to deal with that. My parents have been married for almost 50 years, and I know they all weren't fun, but they love each other very much and will be together till the end, and I really want that same thing for my child.

Spring Break this week and we are getting snow...grrrr

Andrew got his report card this weekend. He was a little dissapointed, but I think he did pretty good for moving here half way through the quarter. He got 3 a's 3 b's and one d. The best part was he turned everything in! That's huge for him!

Earth Hour 2008 is going to take place in 30 mins. Do you plan to do it? 1 hour without lights, tv and internet. I don't think I can do it.

Earth Hour is an international event that asks households and businesses to turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances for one hour on the evening of 29 March at 8 pm local time until 9 pm to promote electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions. It may also help reduce light pollution, and in 2008, coincides with the beginning of National Dark Sky Week in the USA.

Can I use the excuse that I have to work? I guess I better do something good for the planet tho huh? So I plan on reading by candlelight, and taking a bath., Maybe they should have Earth Hour everynight so us moms can get a break. Yeah thats a Great idea!!

Emily is always coming up with funny things! I love this age so much. She is so into being clean, she does not like to get dirty, and is always brushing her teeth and if your breath smells she will tell you.

On the way to get Russell from work yesterday I hear her say to Andrew, "I hope you brush your teeth before we get married." LOL

He didn't find it as funny as I did!!

Hello Everyone! We had a great Easter this year, the weather was great, and Emily finally got into it this year. She sat on the bunny's lap all on her own , and she finally got into dyeing the eggs. Last year she said the dye was evil and did not want to get her hands messy. What can I say she is all girl!!

Russell and I just celebrated our 11th anniversary. Would would have thought huh? I know people made bets at our wedding on how long we would last, and I know we won!

I am now working for the first time since Emily was born, I love bringing in some extra money and using my brain a little more. Scarey thought huh?

We are all looking forward to going out to Seattle this year. Andrew is going with us and he hasn't done a whole lot of traveling so I think he is really excited! We will be done for a little over a week!

Not really a whole lot to update today but I will be posting a lot in here so we will talk to you all soon !
